Requirements for applicants

Selection of the researcher(s)

The Consortium shall select the necessary number of researchers according to the objectives of the project and the indicative distribution of the contract provisions.

Criteria for eligibility of the researcher (s) (as defined in the Annex III):

To be eligible, each researcher must simultaneously fulfill the following criteria at the time of appointment by the beneficiary concerned in the frame of this project.

 Selection criteria

The recruitment of the INTEGRIM researchers will be a two-stage evaluation procedure. The coordinating institution (University of Deusto) will proceed with the first evaluation step regarding the administrative checks of the general eligibility of the candidates. Since the researchers are contracted by each university, different local selection procedures will have to be respected when it comes to the final decision, but within an established common ground. Through controlling a fair and transparent ‘eligibility check’ in the pre-selection phase, we can guarantee that only those candidates that fit the INTEGRIM profile will end up in the university-directed final decision procedure.

First step: General Eligibility Criteria (pre-selection)

1.-Criteria for eligibility of the researcher (s) (as defined in the Annex III)

To be eligible, each researcher must simultaneously fulfill the following criteria at the time of appointment by the beneficiary concerned in the frame of this project.

a) Nationality: the researcher may be of any nationality.

b) Mobility:

At the time of appointment, the researcher may not have resided or carried out his/her main activity in the country of the beneficiary for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to his/her recruitment under the project. Short stays such as holidays are not taken into account.

c) Qualifications and research experience:

The researcher must fulfill the requirements associated with Early Stage Researchers as defined in Article III.1:

Early stage researchers: means researchers in the first 4 years (full-time equivalent) of their research careers, including the period of research training, starting at the date of obtaining the degree which would formally entitle them to embark on a doctorate either in the country in which the degree was obtained or in the country in which the initial training activities are provided.

The early-stage research positions offered in this call are open to students exploring issues related to migration and the integration of migrants (or other minorities)in European societies, whose doctoral research should fit into the following INTEGRIM themes: Identity and cultural integration (WP1:UDEUSTO, MiReKoç ); Citizenship and political participation (WP2: CEDEM, IMES); Labour and social integration (WP3: SCMR-USO); Urban integration, residential patterns and mobility (WP4:IGOT, Migrinter).

The ESR posts should ideally be assigned to PhD candidates who are already in more advanced stages of their doctoral research and the elaboration of their thesis (applicants should have no more than 4 years of full-time research experience since obtaining the degree that entitles them to pursue doctoral studies). The programme offers them the possibility of enjoying a one-year-long research stay at one of the academic institutions of the network, either to improve their analysis or to develop the corresponding field work for their projects.

2.-Linguistic competence: Accreditation of minimum European C1 English level supported either through an official degree or through the accreditation of at least two years of higher education in English. The University reserves for itself the right of a language test in case of needing to double check the language skills of the candidate.

3.- University degree on Human and Social Sciences.

Second step: Applicant and Research Project Basis Eligibility Criteria

After the pre-selection, each partner institution may interview personally, by telephone or any other telematics means, eligible candidates according to each institution’s regulations and applicants´ suitability, on the basis of the quality of the application, the compatibility of their research experience with one of the INTEGRIM network’s research dimensions and the feasibility to integrate the fellows’ Project Development Plan into the local research training programmes. Two types of criteria would be adopted: general and exclusive criteria:

 A) General criteria:
