8 Marie Curie Pre-Doctoral Research Positions in the field of Integration and Migration Open call on March 13th 2013

The Consortium of European institutions taking part in the project “INTEGRIM: Integration and international migration: pathways and integration policies offers a 8 full-time pre-doctoral research positions in the field of Integration and Migration research to pursue their own research project and to develop career skills. INTEGRIM invites applications from highly qualified students. 

 

INTEGRIM has been created and developed under the Seventh Framework Programme/People by a solid and dynamic network of 8 institutions: Universidad de Deusto, Université de Liège, University of Sussex, Universidade de Lisboa, Universiteit van Amsterdam, Koç University, Central European University (Közép-európai Egyetem) and Université de Poitiers. They all have a proven commitment and capacity to deliver high-quality training fostering a multidisciplinary research career on International Migration and Integration within the European context. The network will apply a qualification framework with a compatible set of qualifications/knowledge/skills across the national systems for graduates of the INTEGRIM programme. Besides, the INTEGRIM research training programme will address the integration challenges that migration flows pose to policy makers, civil society and industrial partners in Europe

Description

 

The attainment of a high-standard Ph.D. degree is at the core of the INTEGRIM programme. Long-term ESRs will be required to enroll in a Ph.D. programme at any INTEGRIM training partner site to participate in and complete formal postgraduate core coursework that is required and provided at the home institution. ESRs will have to comply with the eligibility requirements at the home institution, including language competence, to fully benefit from the institution’s research environment and the training programme which will be conducted in the language established by each individual training partner site.

 

Contract duration: 36 months/3 years

Number of positions available: 8 of 36 months

Research Fields: Social Science and Humanities

Career Stage: Early Stage Researchers or 0-4 years (Post Graduate)

Research Profile: First Stage Researcher

Comment:

The interested candidate should fulfill the following general eligibility criteria:

i) The researcher shall not be a national of a State in which the beneficiary’s research team appointing him/her is located.

In the case of a researcher holding more than one nationality, he/she will be able to be hosted by a beneficiary located in the country of his/her nationality in which (s)he has not resided during the previous 5 years.

At the time of appointment, the researcher may not have resided or carried out his/her main activity in the country of the beneficiary for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to his/her appointment. Short stays such as holidays are not taken into account.

ii) The researcher must fulfill the requirements associated with Early Stage Researchers as defined in Article III:

Early stage researchers: means researchers in the first 4 years (full-time equivalent) of their research careers, including the period of research training, starting at the date of obtaining the degree which would formally entitle them to embark on a doctorate either in the country in which the degree was obtained or in the country in which the initial training activities are provided, irrespective whether or not a doctorate is envisaged.

iii) Linguistic competence: Accreditation of minimum European C1 English level supported either through an official degree or through the accreditation of at least two years of higher education in English. The University reserves for itself the right of a language test in case of needing to double check the language skills of the candidate.

iv) University degree on Human and Social Sciences.
